Choosing Wigiwama: what to know before you buy

What's in the Wigiwama range

The Wigiwama range at Nestoro covers three product families. Beanbags include the Bear Beanbag, Bunny Beanbag and Beanbag Chair, with outdoor versions of both chair and ottoman also available. Shaped foam seating includes the Cloud Chair, Cloud Pouffe, Moon Chair and Rainbow Playset. The Flip Chair and Flipster offer a foldable option for smaller spaces, while the Settee provides wider shared seating. Matching ottomans and bundle sets pair across the range, with square, round and cloud-shaped options starting from £84.99.

Age suitability and how long the pieces last

Most Wigiwama pieces are suitable from age one. Beanbags and pouffes work well from toddler age; the Cloud Chair and Moon Chair are best introduced from around age two when children can climb on and off independently. The larger seating pieces continue to suit children through primary school, making them a more practical long-term buy than nursery-specific furniture. Customers consistently note the longevity: as one reviewer put it, “It is rather pricey but my little boy will use it for years so I think worth the money for the nice design.” (Emma C., via Judge.me)

Fabrics, certifications and care

All Wigiwama outer covers carry OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification, confirming the fabric has been tested for harmful substances. Corduroy, Velvet and Terrazzo covers additionally hold GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certification, meaning the fabric is made from recycled PET bottles. Terrazzo, available in Marble, Moss and Sand, is a woven boucle and chenille blend and the only Wigiwama fabric that is machine washable on a hand-wash cycle. Corduroy, Velvet and Teddy covers are hand wash only. All covers are removable with zip fastenings, and beanbag inner shells carry Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX certification.

Wigiwama uses Go Green neutral shipping and supports Tree Nation as part of its environmental approach. All pieces are handmade in the brand’s own factory in Latvia. The Wigiwama Bear Beanbag is part of our bean bags for kids collection.

Frequently asked questions about Wigiwama

What age is Wigiwama furniture suitable for?

Most Wigiwama pieces are suitable from age one. The Bear Beanbag, Bunny Beanbag and Cloud Pouffe work well from toddler age. The Beanbag Chair, Cloud Chair, Moon Chair and Flip Chair are best introduced from around age two, when children can climb on and off safely on their own. These pieces continue to suit children through primary school and beyond, making them a better long-term investment than nursery-specific items.

What is the difference between the Wigiwama Bear Beanbag and the Beanbag Chair?

The Bear Beanbag is a rounded, low beanbag with sculpted bear-ear shaping, wider and closer to the floor, ideal for toddlers. The Beanbag Chair is taller with defined back support and cushioned sides, giving older children a more structured seated posture. Both use EPS bead filling and OEKO-TEX certified removable covers in the same fabric options. The Bear Beanbag starts at £106.99 and the Beanbag Chair at £159.99.

How do you wash a Wigiwama cover?

Remove the cover using the zip fastening. Corduroy, Velvet and Teddy covers are hand wash only: use a damp microfibre cloth for daily cleaning, hand wash if a full wash is needed, then air dry naturally with no tumble dryer. Terrazzo covers (Marble, Moss and Sand colourways) are machine washable on a hand-wash cycle with similar colours, then hang to dry. The EPS bead filling, polyurethane foam cores and beanbag inner shells cannot be washed.

Are Wigiwama products OEKO-TEX certified and safe for children?

Yes. All Wigiwama outer covers carry OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification, confirming the fabric has been tested against over 100 harmful substances. Corduroy, Velvet and Terrazzo covers additionally hold GRS certification, meaning the fabric is made from recycled PET bottles. Beanbag inner shells are Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX certified. The polyurethane foam used in cloud chairs and moon chairs is ISO-certified. All products are handmade in Wigiwama’s own factory in Latvia under controlled conditions.

Which Wigiwama product is best for a small room?

The Cloud Pouffe (39.5 cm diameter, 25 cm high) is the most compact option, useful as a footrest, extra seat or step for toddlers. The Square Ottoman (60 × 60 × 20 cm) and Round Ottoman are similarly low-profile and easy to move between rooms. The Flip Chair folds flat for storage, making it the most practical full-seat option for a smaller room. The Bear Beanbag and Beanbag Chair are the most popular pieces but require the most floor space.
