Both Monio product families are suitable from birth. Playmats are used from the earliest weeks for supervised tummy time, with the nest walls providing a soft boundary. For ball pits, the 30cm wall height is best suited to babies aged around 6 to 12 months, and the 40cm wall height works better for crawlers and active toddlers. Most pieces remain useful through the toddler stage, making them a longer-term purchase than products designed for a single developmental window.

Monio playmats are nest-shaped padded floor mats with raised walls, designed for floor play from birth. They provide a cushioned, bounded surface for tummy time, rolling and early movement. Monio ball pits are round open-top enclosures with a 90cm inner diameter and a 30cm or 40cm wall height, designed for sitting and sensory play with ball pit balls, which are sold separately in packs of 50. Both families use removable, zipped covers in fabric groups including Cotton, Linen, Velvet, Corduroy and Boucle.

All Monio products have removable covers secured with a zip fastening. Cotton covers (playmats and ball pits) are machine washable at 30 degrees on a gentle cycle. Linen playmat covers are hand wash only. Velvet covers (playmats and ball pits) are machine washable at 30 degrees on a delicate cycle. Corduroy and Boucle ball pit covers are hand wash only. No covers should be tumble dried. The foam base in playmats and the EPS bead fill in ball pits cannot be washed.

Cotton playmats have a 115cm total diameter and 95cm inner play area. Linen and Velvet playmats share the same 115cm total diameter with a 105cm inner play area. Ball pits have a 90cm inner diameter; the total floor footprint is approximately 100cm to 110cm including the wall structure. For the smallest footprint in the ball pit range, the 30cm wall height is the lower-profile option. Both product families are sized to fit in a standard bedroom or nursery without significant rearrangement.

Monio playmats are designed to work on hard floors including wood, tile and laminate. Cotton playmats have a 4cm foam base with 8 to 10cm total cushioning. Linen and Velvet playmats have a foam base plus silicone fill, giving 10 to 12cm of total cushioning. The nest wall structure defines a play boundary on hard flooring without requiring additional underlayers or grips. All three playmat fabric groups can be placed directly on hard floors and work on soft carpet too.
