Monio for Kids Mint Linen Padded Nest Playmat

Natural linen brings a different texture to the floor at a stage when babies are gathering sensory information from everything they touch. The Monio for Kids Linen Padded Nest Playmat has an inner play area of approximately 90cm and a raised edge of around 12cm, built from a 4cm foam base and a layer of silicone ball fill. The nest shape cushions and defines the play space without the rigid sides of a playpen, so babies can explore on their own terms with an adult close by. The removable 100% linen cover washes at 30° on a delicate cycle.

The linen cover is removable using the zip fastening. Machine wash on a delicate cycle at 30°. Do not tumble dry. Air dry naturally. The foam base and silicone ball filling cannot be washed.

The Linen Padded Nest Playmat brings a natural textile into a category that defaults to cotton. The 100% linen cover has a woven texture that provides sensory variety at the stage when babies are gathering information from every surface they encounter, and linen softens with repeated washing and daily use. Underneath, it shares the same 4cm foam base, silicone ball fill and approximately 12cm edge as the Cotton version. At approximately 90cm inside and 105cm overall, it is a slightly more compact nest than the Cotton, which suits rooms where floor space is shared with other furniture.

What age is the Linen Padded Nest Playmat suitable for?

Suitable from birth for supervised floor play. The padded nest walls provide a soft, defined floor space for tummy time and early exploration from the newborn stage. The inner play area of approximately 90cm gives enough room for a baby to roll and reach as they become more mobile, and most families continue to use the mat through the sitting and crawling stages to around 12 to 18 months.

What are the dimensions of the Linen Playmat?

The inner play area is approximately 90cm in diameter, and the full outer mat measures approximately 105cm across including the nest walls. The walls stand approximately 12cm high over a 4cm foam base. Allow a clear floor area of about 110 x 110cm.

What is inside the Linen Playmat?

The Linen Playmat uses a 4cm foam base with a layer of silicone ball fill, and the nest walls stand approximately 12cm high. This is the same construction as the Cotton and Velvet versions, so the feel underneath is the same across all three; the difference is the cover. The silicone fill is part of the mat structure and not removable. The outer cover is 100% linen.

How do you wash the Linen Playmat?

Remove the outer cover using the zip fastening and machine wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle. Do not tumble dry. Hang to dry fully before replacing the cover. Linen can take longer to dry fully than cotton, so allow sufficient time before reassembling. The foam and silicone fill inner is spot clean only.

What is the difference between the Linen and Cotton Padded Nest Playmats?

Both share the same construction: a 4cm foam base with silicone ball fill and a raised edge of approximately 12cm, so neither is more cushioned than the other. The differences are size and the cover. Cotton is the larger nest, at approximately 95cm inside and 115 to 120cm overall, while Linen measures approximately 90cm inside and 105cm overall. Linen has a natural woven texture; cotton is smoother and available in a wider colour range.
